*We use The Science of Reading approach by practicing a skill throughout the week and testing at the end of the week instead of giving students a list of words to memorize. We want to see that they understand the concept and they can transfer it.
⭐We practice daily in class. Students are exposed to words that could be on the spelling test at the end of the week.

Daily Reading Routine- to help build phonics skills
Read together every day: Spend 5 to 10 minutes listening to your child read aloud or reading a story to them.
Practice decoding: Encourage your child to sound out simple words. Have them notice word parts. Provide a word gently if they get stuck to avoid frustration.
Look for words everywhere: Point out words on street signs, cereal boxes, and menus during your daily routines.
