Homework

(in addition to reading for fun for at least 20 minutes each night!)

In class, at the end of each day, students will watch me type the homework into the Google document above. They may also choose to write this information down in a planner if your family chose to go that route. Homework will be minimal, and will generally include math and reading. Students may also need to take something home that they were unable to finish in class (this is on an individual basis and will not be recorded on the homework calendar link).

Homework Policy

I believe that homework is necessary for independent practice of important skills that have been learned and for enriching the classroom experience. I also believe that students should be spending their time outside of school with their families, friends and enjoying extracurricular activities and sports. Therefore, homework will not be extensive this year.

Homework does not receive an actual grade for report cards. Instead, homework is given credit for being turned in and completed with accuracy. Homework is meant to be independent practice that will support learning in class and achieve mastery of skills. If homework is not turned in, I will ask students to complete it during our Friday Fun time.
