Greetings 4th grade students and families,
I am so incredibly excited to be your 4th grade teacher! I have been in education for more than 20 years!
I was born and raised in Littleton, CO and attended all Jeffco schools. When I graduated from Columbine High School, I pursued a Social Work degree at Colorado State University (Go Rams!). After working at an Alternative High School in Fort Collins, I worked for a company called Lindamood-Bell that specializes in programs that help students with reading and math. I traveled with Lindmood-Bell, coaching and training teachers in those programs across the United States and abroad.
After that, I went back to school to pursue my Master of Arts in Teaching degree, specializing in Elementary Education, from the University of Northern Colorado (Go Bears!). Next, I taught 3rd grade at a school in northeast Denver for 4 years. Then, I found my home at Slater Elementary and taught 6th grade for 3 years. Once they moved 6th grade to the middle school, I moved to 5th grade! Then 5th & 4th grade together. And now I've been teaching 4th grade for the last 5 years.
I am married and we have two amazing boys We have two rescue dogs named Hattie and Bo. I love being outside and gardening, laying in the grass looking at clouds, hiking or taking the dogs on a walk. I love going on adventures with my family. I LOVE to read, I'm currently reading anything by Sophie Kinsella! I also love games, both video (I'm REALLY good at racing games) and board (Catan is my jam).
Please reach out to me if you have any questions or concerns!
