Professional language development for the workplace is the hallmark of our language development program within the CP at Alameda. It is developed in collaboration with our community partner, Common Ground International, LLC, who also grants a certificate of completion of 80 hours of professional language preparation when the 85% mark of competency is reached in both the oral and writing modalities at the end of the program. Building on the linguistic and socio-cultural strengths of our students to better meet the needs of a diverse professional workforce is what we do best; we build for the future from the community foundations of today.
Cate Orive and Alameda's Language Development program have been featured in the book "Taking the IBCP Forward" by Fabian, Hayden and Thompson and published by John Catt Educational. Ms. Orive, a leader in Language in the Professional Setting, has also recently completed another article for use by the IBO.
