Principles of Marketing

The Marketing/DECA Program at Chatfield Senior High is designed to equip students with knowledge, skills, attitudes, and experiences that will benefit them throughout their high school & post-secondary school careers and in any future career they choose. Through classroom instruction and experiences, on-the-job-education, working in the school retail operation and DECA activities students will learn how businesses operate and how to best prepare for employment in a marketing & business related career. To enhance the study of Marketing in the classroom, all marketing students will have the opportunity to participate in DECA, a national organization of Marketing Students. Through their participation, students will have the opportunity to put their understanding of Marketing into action as they compete at the district, state, and national level. The role-play events used in competition help students to learn to think on their feet and how to present themselves in a business situation. All events are centered around those skills expected by employers in all marketing & business fields — effective communication skills, ability to solve problems, ability to make decisions, and the ability to function responsibly as a leader and a member of a team. DECA also provides students with leadership development and the chance to network with other students and business persons from across the state and nation.

By taking this course, you have an option to receive college credit through Arapahoe Community College (ACC). As soon as you receive the admission paperwork, please fill it out and return it by the date stated on the paperwork.
