What is the Girl Scout Gold Award

The Girl Scout Gold Award

The Girl Scout Gold Award is the highest award that a Girl Scout can receive. It gives Girl Scouts in high school an opportunity to change the world in her own way. It takes hard work, dedication, and so much more but creates lifelong opportunities.

After identifying a local or global problem, the Girl Scout then brainstorms and organizes a project to bring light to the issue. Throughout the entirety of the project, the Girl Scout must show leadership and delegate others to be a part her Gold Award. The project must continue beyond the Girl Scout's doing and be sustainable through another party. It takes time and perseverance, but is beyond rewarding. It opens doors to scholarships, career opportunities, and so much more. Gold Award recipients are the next generation of leaders and world changers.
