My name is Linnea Wolle. I just recently graduated from Ralston Valley High School in Arvada, CO. It blows my mind to say thing, but I have been a Girl Scout now for 13 years. My grandma has been my loving and supportive troop leader since I was a Daisy in Kindergarten. Girl Scouts has been a huge part of my life, and some of my biggest personal achievements have been done through Girl Scouting. I achieved my Bronze Award alongside my troop back in 6th grade by sewing 100 pillows for a local non-profit, Family Tree. These pillows went to single mothers and children in need. In 2018, I achieved the 2nd highest award a Girl Scout can receive, the Silver Award. I spent nearly 2 years collecting pop tabs off of aluminum cans to send to a non-profit in Uganda, Sewing Hope. Women in Uganda are able to sew purses using the pop tabs to make an income after suffering from a war with Joseph Kony. I had an incredible opportunity in the Spring of 2019 to travel to Uganda to see this non-profit in action. It was beyond rewarding to meet Sister Rosemary, the founder and one of Times Most Influential Woman of 2018, and simply see the effects my project had. My initial goal was to collect 500,000 pop tabs, and now I have surpassed 1.5 million pop tabs. And now, I am working on my Girl Scout Gold Award, hoping to make an impact through my fraud awareness curriculum. I am attending Luther College in the fall to study Spanish and Business as well as continue my athletic career as a part of the women's tennis team.
