IMG_7394.MOV35 Literacy O'Lanterns adorn our halls! They are magnificent. It makes me so happy to think of all our families talking about books and their characters as they created such masterpieces. Thank you to everyone for creating your O'Lanterns and for all who enjoyed them as they walked down the hallway.
The Top Three O'Lanterns are:
The Three Billy Goats Gruff by Sadie in Mrs. Chism's Kindergarten class.
The Giving Tree written by Shel Silverstein created by Jennings in Mrs. Martin's 2nd grade class.
The Tin Man from The Wizard of Oz written by Frank Baum created by Aden in Mrs. Freeman's 5th grade class.

Choose your favorite book or characters, pick a pumpkin/gourd, and let your creative juices flow! Bring your literacy lantern to school to be displayed. Judges will choose the top three pumpkins. The artist and their pumpkin will appear on our Elk Creek website banner.
