Playing Time:
Playing time on the varsity level is not shared equally it is an awarded privilege not a right. The varsity team is a competitive team. Playing time is based on performance and ability, at the coaches discretion. DRHS soccer coaches will commit to honest and fair evaluation of all players. Disgruntlement should be restrained as it produces a poisonous environment and hampers the players and teams ability to achieve its potential. The value of the player should not be based on playing time as participation in the program is special by its self and goes well beyond minutes played in a game. Team selection will be based on what is best for the overall success of the program. It is a fluid situation, players may swing between levels for both game play and training sessions, they may train with one level and play with another. All players are expected to maintain a positive attitude and look to contribute their best to help the program achieve maximum success. Coaches will not compromise the success of the team for any individual and with all decisions will do what is best for the program. The TEAM always comes first.
Communication Protocol:
DRHS coaches will not discuss any issues before, during or after games. Coaches commit to the 24 hour rule any issue that needs to be addressed should follow the chain of command. The door is always open but the chain needs to be used starting with scheduling. This protocol is designed to both empower the player and create an environment conducive to constructive communication.

Athletic Trainer
DRHS provides a certified trainer. All injured players must be seen by the DRHS certified trainer or bring a note from a doctor to be “excused” from training. Injured players are expected to attend practices and games and act as assistants to the coaches and program as needed.
