This Level 2 course allow students who completed Beginning Ceramics with a 'C' or better to expand their 3-Dimensional skills. Students will explore new techniques while focusing on observation and composition elements. We will Contemporary trends in art will be integrated within this course to enrich student knowledge and awareness. We will spend the beginning of the semester focusing on wheel throwing as many students did not learn this skill during the 2020 school year.

Research Requirements:
Use the following websites: www.artaxis.org to find 3 different artists you find interesting
Create 1 page in your sketchbook (10 points per page) for each artist and provide the following info
Artist Name
Background info on artist
Style of work: ex. functional pottery, sculpture, installation, etc.
Sketch your favorite piece
Describe: what you like about the work, what you would take away to incorporate into your own piece
Due THURSDAY: Research (30 points) PLUS Detailed Sketches/Plans of what you want to create including... (10 additional points)

Measurements (approx. size of piece)
How you plan on finishing & displaying the work
