What is Speech and Language Therapy? Speech and Language Therapy in the educational setting addresses concerns with articulation, understanding language, following classroom directions, comprehending and understanding inferences of both oral and written language, effectively expressing themselves to others using age/grade-level vocabulary, grammar, and sentence structure, and being able to ask and answer a variety of questions in order to be successful learners. They also need to be able to speak fluently without pauses or repetitions (stuttering) and use a quality of voice that is appropriate for their age and gender.

If you have concerns about your child's speech and language skills please talk to your child's teacher and they will relay your concerns.
