Athletic trainers are highly qualified, multi-skilled health care professionals who collaborate with physicians to provide preventative services, emergency care, clinical diagnosis, therapeutic intervention and rehabilitation of injuries and medical conditions. Athletic trainers work under the direction of a physician as prescribed by state licensure statutes.
Athletic trainers are sometimes confused with personal trainers. There is, however, a large difference in the education, skill set, job duties and patients of an athletic trainer and a personal trainer. The athletic training academic curriculum and clinical training follows the medical model. Athletic trainers must graduate from an accredited master’s program. https://www.nata.org/about/athletic-training
Athletic Training Room Philosophy:
The Athletic Training Room is a place where athletes can come to a safe environment for treatment of athletic injuries. Nick demands respect when athletes are in the training room, he wants the athletes to feel safe to talk to him about anything but also remember that this is a place of business not socializing.
We can work on:
Rehabilitation Exercises for all Joints
Ice & Heat
KT Taping
Cupping
Scrapping
Massage/Manual Therapy/Joint Mobs
Therapeutic Ultrasound & Electrical Stimulation
The Training Room opens at 2:30 pm everyday for treatment and new injury evaluations. If Athletic Trainer is not in his office check the schedule posted on the door; he is most likely at a Varsity Game. Make sure to notify your coach as to why you're injured and why you're going to see the Athletic Trainer.
