Mrs. Rice's 2nd Grade
Hi there! My name is Mrs. Rice and I am so excited for another great year in second grade! This will be my 9th year of teaching and second year here at Ralston. I've been a classroom teacher for 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 5th grades. I've also had great experiences as an instructional coach and reading interventionist. I have a Masters in Reading Education as well as many certifications that support my instruction such as Orton Gillingham and Thinking Maps.
Every year my goal is for my students to love being at school. Lesson engagement is very important to me. My desk arrangments will change many times, my students will be up and out of their seats often, and my classroom will almost always be buzzing with accountable talk (just how I like it). In our classroom, we will celebrate hard efforts and learn from mistakes. We will speak positively to ourselves and to others and show integrity with our actions and words. I truly love teaching and feel so honored to get a front row seat to the wonderful things that happen in second grade.
I live in Genesee with my husband Mike and our two boys Ben (5) and Matthew (3). We also have 2 dogs Annie (Goldendoodle) and Bella (Golden Retreiver).
