Welcome to second grade! I am so excited and looking forward to an AWESOME year with your child and family! This is my twenty-fifth year of teaching and learning at Prospect Valley Elementary. I have taught fourth, third, and second grades while at PV. I am excited to be a part of your lives this year!

I am native to the Wheat Ridge/Arvada area. I am the youngest of three children. I have two older brothers who have blessed me with five wonderful nephews and two beautiful nieces. In addition, two of my nephews have made me a great aunt to one super funny and handsome great nephew and three talented, beautiful, and spunky nieces. I love traveling, game night with the family, cooking, baking, reading, being creative, technology, watching movies and listening to music.

I am a product of Jefferson County Schools. I attended Fitzmorris Elementary(now closed), Arvada Junior High(Arvada k-8), and Arvada High School. I stayed in the state for college and attended Metropolitan University College of Denver. Later I attended Lesley University for my master’s degree in technology, and then Regis University to receive my English as a Second Language endorsement. Learning is truly lifelong; I learn something new every day!

My role as your child’s teacher is to help your child discover their individuality and strengths, foster a love of learning, and do everything I can to make them successful students. I believe in the power of hands-on experiences and learning from our mistakes! My hope is to foster a partnership between school and home. Please feel free to reach out to me with any questions or concerns you may have.

The best way to communicate with me is by email at amy.carmack@jeffco.k12.co.us or stop by for a quick conversation after school.
