Are you in need community service hours? If so, we would love to have you volunteer in our Community Education After School program. Each day our students arrive in our program and have a healthy snack. After that, the students start working on their homework. We are also introducing STEM activities in our program. If you think you could benefit from volunteering, please let us know. I know our students would benefit from working with them.
Benefits to the high school student include:· Each person completing 20 volunteer hours would be awarded a Certificate of Excellence from the Jefferson County School System.· The Program Director Pam Rush will write a recommendation letter for the student's college application if requested.· Volunteer work experience they can put on their resume and/or showcase for college applications.· It is a great introduction to students interested in majoring in Education in college.· Satisfies different students' needs for community service hours.· Allows students to develop meaningful skills in tutoring children· Teaches responsibility and self-discipline in an educational environment
