-Basketball-
By Amani Jenkins
After school there is a 3-3 basketball tournament that 6-7 graders get to play each other. There will be over 100 people we think. I think it's a great opportunity for people to get better at basketball by playing with more athletic people, so I hope Summit does more things like that. So I’m going to be asking Imani what she thinks about the 3-3 basketball. She said, “I think it’s pretty cool that we get to experience how basketball works and have fun at the same time”.
The 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament will be in April. Visit the website below for more information and to register.
Baseball Spring Training
By Andrew Hunt:
Baseball Spring Training is a season where teams go to two states (Arizona and Florida) to practice baseball until the regular season begins, also players from the Minor League which is where young players play baseball goes up to play with the majors. There isn’t enough stadiums for all the teams to play in one state, so half of the baseball teams go to Arizona, and the other teams go to Florida. Spring Training also helps teams get warmed up to be good in the regular season too. My summit strong teacher Mrs. Coomes told me that she loves the Cubs because that her family follows them a lot and her son really enjoys them.
