Water Donations
We are always taking donations of bottled water. If anyone is willing and able to donate a case or two of water to the band program, please contact Mr. Heeren to drop it off at the band doors.
Summer Rehearsal and Camp Volunteers
Our summer weather is very unpredictable and includes hot weather. Having additional adults on hand to care for heat-related issues is a huge help.
Concession Stand
The Band Parents Association is usually given one home game each season. A share of the profits from that game go to the Band Parents Association. Many hands are needed to help in the concession stand.
Truck and Van Drivers - 3 drivers each weekend
We need families with trucks who are willing to pull our two large equipment trailers to marching band competitions. It is recommended the trucks be 3/4 ton. The school's black cargo van can is used to pull our smaller 12' trailer.
Uniforms
Uniform volunteers for football games help students get into their uniforms and assist them with troubleshooting. Throughout the evening the uniform team provides water, supplies, support to all band members. Following half time show volunteers return to the school with the students to assist them with hanging up their uniform. Volunteer shifts during football are usually a five-hour commitment, and remain with the students throughout the evening. No experience needed, just a love for our band!
Uniform volunteers travel with the band on the buses to help with uniforms as well as to act as chaperones. Volunteers assist students with getting ready for competitions, trouble shooting, and serving water and snacks. Volunteers are with the band during the competitions and often help with props. We are the parents away from home and the extra set of hands. No experience needed, just a love for our band!
Equipment Pushers - 8-10 volunteers each performance
Volunteers will help push podiums and percussion equipment into place for our home football games and weekend competitions.
Bus Chaperones - 4-5 adults per weekend
We need bus chaperones each time we travel. Chaperones assist with taking attendance, and addressing any student needs throughout the day.
Johnston Marching Invitational
Many parent volunteers are needed to help run our Johnston Marching Invitational. Volunteer areas include: Parking, gate workers, concession workers, clinic room monitors, clinician assistants, and medical assistance.
