Moodle user data files should be cleaned up when beginning a new term and starting with a new group of students. The Reset Tool can empty user data from a course and retain the activities and other settings.

1. In the Administration Block, choose Reset.

2. Use screenshots below to choose the data to delete, then choose the ‘Reset Course’ button at the bottom. Then, scroll to the bottom and choose Continue.

3. A status screen will appear to indicate the items have reset.

After the reset confirmation, check the participants link to be sure that the course is cleared out of student names.
