How to Check Your Remaining Storage Space (Mac)
If your computer is running out of space and you're not sure what's taking up room, use these steps to quickly identify large documents and applications so that you can delete or move them as needed.
In the upper left corner of your screen, click the Apple icon, then click on About This Mac.
In the window that appears, click on the Storage tab to see an overview of how much space is currently being used on your computer. To see more details, click Manage...
This will bring up a detailed window that displays your applications, books, documents, etc. You can sort items by size or the last time you accessed them. If you identify documents or applications that you don't need anymore, you can also delete them from this window.
