My name is Connie Zhang and I have a passion for dance. I've been dancing for 14 years, choreographing for 2 years, and am trained primarily in classical ballet, modern, jazz, and partnering (with tap, theater, lyrical, contemporary, and East Asian styles on the side).Â
Research Question: How do different styles of ballet change our interpretation of the same story?
I've been very lucky to have had the help and support from dance experts in the Syracuse community. A big special thanks to:
Larry Crabtree - Ballet instructor, teaching over 40 years
Cathy Mucci - Director of Dance Centre North, teaching over 45 years
Julie Lombardi - Modern instructor, teaching 20 years
Diana Torba - Modern instructor, teaching since 17 years old
As well as:
Andres Valladares - Class of 2023 at Jamesville-DeWitt High School, dancing for 11 years
Lillian Rothrum, Meghan Obleman, Camila Valladares, and Senior Capstone classmates/coaches
Three Styles of Ballet- Classical, Neoclassical, and Contemporary -can the same story be told through all three?
