Financial Aid Application for 2021-2022 is now available!
Find out what you can do to support your child as they prepare for college.
Help Your Child Create a College List
Ask your child what are they interested in and what they see themselves doing in the future. This will narrow down colleges that offer majors they are interested in.
Still not sure? Your child can always schedule an appointment with Stella to discuss or take an interest inventory survey.
Look for colleges that are a good fit by encouraging your child to attend a virtual college tour.
Ideally, students should have 2-4 colleges on their list. They should range from a reach college, target college, and safety college.
Most students qualify for some form of financial aid. It is important to start planning early.
Financial Aid Applications Open on October 1st.
Fill out the FAFSA form with your child. Make sure to have a copy of your 2019 tax forms. Parents will need to create an FSA ID separate from the student in order to provide a virtual signature on the application. Make sure to write down the login credentials somewhere for future reference.
Review financial aid award letters with your child.
Students will begin receiving these offers via email around January/February.
Check in with your child's advisor and teachers! They can let you know about your child's academic progress and outstanding credits/regents needed to graduate.
Create a parent account on Naviance.
Attend parent workshops/events! Learn about the post-secondary process and join a temperature check to have your voice heard.
