Upcoming Dates
As we return to school, a reminder that MAP testing is scheduled for Monday, December 2nd, and Tuesday, December 3rd. To help your child succeed, please ensure they get plenty of rest, come to school prepared, and bring a fully charged Chromebook on both days.
Students who have strong attendance, arrive prepared, and work hard during testing will be rewarded for their efforts. We want to celebrate and encourage their dedication!
Thank you for your continued support. We look forward to seeing everyone back and ready to succeed.
The countdown to the holiday break is coming and our WJMS Student Council is sponsoring a daily dress up to stay spirited! Check out this calendar for dress up (or down) days and we are excited to see what all the students and teachers come up with!
We are gearing up for a new season of talent and looking to add to our cast of characters for our drama club. There will be a meeting on December 4th and any student interested is welcome to attend. We hope to see you there!
As we approach the end of the semester, it’s time to prepare for midterm exams. The exam schedule is as follows:
December 17th: First Period, Third Period, and First Connections Exams
December 18th: Second Period, Fourth Period, and Second Connections Exams
Please ensure that your child arrives at school on time each day, as this will allow them ample time to complete their exams without feeling rushed.
If your child is absent on the day of an exam, they will need to communicate directly with their teacher to arrange a makeup date after the break. Until the exam is completed, it will be marked as "missing" in the gradebook.
The holiday season is almost here, and we’re gearing up to bring some extra sparkle to our amazing teachers at West Jackson Middle School! ✨ To show our gratitude, we’re planning a festive holiday lunch and a special gift for each teacher to make them feel truly appreciated.

School Information
As a reminder, students should not bring in any outside food from restaurants. This will help with concerns about food safety, potential disruptions in the classroom, managing food allergies among students, and maintaining the cleanliness of the school environment. Thank you for your help!
Families, please remember that 1st period instruction begins promptly at 8:45 AM each day. To ensure students are in class and ready to learn on time, they need to be in the building no later than 8:40 AM. This allows them time to get to their classrooms and prepare for the day ahead.
Thank you for your help in supporting a smooth start to the school day!
