Mr. Healey is a seasoned educator with 19 years of experience teaching in K-8 classrooms. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Education from the University of West Georgia. Committed to professional growth, Mr. Healey has earned a certification in facilitating Instructional Conversations through the University of Georgia's College of Education (CLASE) and is a Georgia 4-H Additional Master.
Beyond his academic achievements, He is an active member of Christus Victor Lutheran Church, demonstrating his dedication to community involvement. In his spare time, he enjoys playing tennis, grilling and smoking meats, and making music.
Mr. Healey's teaching philosophy centers on creating a supportive and engaging learning environment where students are encouraged to think critically and ask questions. He believes that by fostering open dialogue and discussion, students can develop a deeper understanding of the material. Sean is passionate about inspiring lifelong learning in his students and often reminds them to "be thinkers, not stinkers."
Mr. Healey's commitment to respect and kindness extends to his classroom. He expects his students to treat one another with respect and values each individual student as a person. By encouraging his students to find positive qualities in their peers, he hopes to cultivate a supportive and inclusive learning community.
Mr. Healey is super excited to be teaching Media Arts and believes that all students have a story to share with the world. During their time in the class, students will explore telling those stories using a wide array of media. They will also learn the importance of planning and revising their work. Finally, students in Media Arts will connect their ideas across multiple content areas and learn how to reffectively respond to other people's digital creations.
