What an absolutely incredible week we’ve had at South Jackson! Our Books for Keeps event was nothing short of amazing. There’s something magical about putting books into the hands of children, and thanks to our wonderful volunteers, that magic was everywhere you looked. Thank you for helping make this event such a success! We can’t wait to hear students share about the stories they’ve discovered and the adventures they’ve begun. Moments like these help our literacy culture continue to grow stronger and brighter every day.
We also had a fantastic time at Farm Day with our kindergarten students, families, and first grade classes. With sunshine overhead and curiosity in full bloom, students explored agriculture in so many engaging ways. From learning about animals to understanding where our food comes from, it was a day full of hands-on learning and joyful discovery.
As we head into next week, we have a busy and exciting few days before Spring Break! It’s important that students are at school each day so they don’t miss out on all the fun and learning ahead.
Here’s what’s coming up:
Wednesday: No fooling, our final Eagle Experiences session—students will wrap up their explorations and celebrate their learning!
Friday: Career Day—a wonderful opportunity for students to learn about different career paths and dream big about their futures!
We are looking forward to finishing strong together before a well-deserved Spring Break. Thank you for your continued support in making South Jackson such a special place to learn and grow.
Books for Keeps was a huge success! Over 8,500 books are in the hands of our Eagles! Remember, Eagles read every day!

Registration for the 2026-27 Pre-Kindergarten Lottery is now OPEN! Families can visit www.jacksonschoolsga.org/prek to learn more about eligibility requirements. Pre-K programs are available at all seven JCSS elementary schools. The lottery drawing will take place in March, and families will be notified of their enrollment status.
We are thrilled to announce all JCSS schools are adopting the Raptor Safe mobile application as part of our ongoing commitment to enhancing school safety, while streamlining visitor management check-in at our schools. The Raptor Safe app builds upon existing visitor procedures, offering a more convenient and secure check-in process for visitors.
What is the Raptor Safe App?
The Raptor Safe app offers a convenient and secure way for visitors to manage and verify their identity before arriving at a school. With the Raptor Passport feature, visitors can pre-verify their identity, allowing for a seamless sign-in process when they arrive on campus.
How Does It Work?
When visiting a school, visitors can use their secure QR code generated by the app to expedite the check-in process. QR codes automatically regenerate every 5 minutes to ensure security and prevent misuse.

We are so proud to recognize our 7 Mindsets “Live to Give” recipients! Together, they model what it truly means to give from the heart through kindness, support, and putting others first. Thank you for leading by example and making our school a better place each day.
Just a friendly reminder for our Eagle families—there’s no need to line up early for car rider pickup. Our line moves quickly and efficiently, taking only about 20 minutes from start to finish. Car rider dismissal begins at 2:40 and ends at 2:55. Arriving too early can block the school entrance, so we appreciate your help in keeping the process safe and smooth for all.
Safety is our top priority during arrival and dismissal. Help everyone stay on time and out of harm's way by following our trusty eagle timeline and car rider protocols. Staff will be on hand at the front of the school every day from 7:00-7:35 and 2:35-2:55 to ensure student safety.
