I have been in school counseling for over 10 years, and I have been with EJHS since 2022. I came from a large metro Atlanta county school system, so switching to EJ was a significant change. I believe the smaller setting provides more opportunity for students to become involved in the school. I can say I have genuinely enjoyed working with the EJ students, and I plan to continue doing so. My counseling degrees are from Mercer and UGA. My wife and I have one daughter. We enjoy traveling whenever we can, and I enjoy learning about different cultures and places.
As a school counselor with a Master of Social Work degree from Florida State University, I am passionate about supporting students’ academic, social, and emotional growth. My background in social work has shaped my commitment to building meaningful relationships, advocating for students, and creating a supportive environment where every student feels valued and empowered to reach their goals. My experience includes school mental health counseling, crisis intervention, child and family social service program development, and connecting students and families with the resources they need to succeed. I have one daughter who is in college and a quirky miniature schnauzer named Grady. Some of my loves - spending time with family and friends, Pilates, matcha, and reading. I am beyond thrilled to join the EJHS team and can't wait to see all that this exciting journey has in store!

I have worked in public education for more than 20 years—mathematics teacher, school counselor, vocational counselor and SPED counselor. I am a strong proponent of education—with a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education (K-8), master’s degree in Counselor Education (K-12), and a doctorate degree in Counseling Psychology. My husband and I moved to Jefferson, GA from Elizabeth City, NC (near the Outer Banks) in Sept 2019. We have fallen in love with the NE Georgia area. In my spare time, I enjoy traveling, spending time with family, reading & being involved in our local church. I enjoy a good joke and making acrostics:

Empower Counselor
East Jackson High School Social Worker
This is my 19th year as a school counselor and second year as the counselor at Empower. I think my time at Empower has been among my most favorite. I love working with the students, being able to develop relationships to support them whatever they may need and then collaborating with East Jackson to make sure support is continuous and consistent. I am a die-hard Bulldogs fan, graduating from the University of Georgia with an undergraduate degree in psychology. I then attended Georgia State University where I received a Master of School Counseling and Specialist in Education. My husband and I have two young sons, ages nine and five, that keep us incredibly busy! I love to travel, I love to eat, and I love to be surrounded by “my people.” My happy place is creating memories with my family!
