*Class Novel - We will start our traditional literature unit after the break.  We will be using a variety of stories throughout the unit. 

*Mentor Text - Thunder Rose by Jerdine Nolen  (Skills:  tall tales, hyperbole) No test next week.

*Mentor Sentence - With the thunder and lightning keeping watch over her the rest of the night, her ma and pa just took to calling her Thunder Rose.  (Skills:  compound subjects, review of complex sentences, and prepositional phrases.)  

*Writing - Informational Essays - Research/Writing/Revising//Publishing

**HW- H.5 - Analyze the effects of figures of speech on meaning and tone DUE: Friday, April 10th.  (Remember- no make-up points will be given after the due date.)
