A Letter from Ms. Katie

Good afternoon everyone,

I come to y'all this afternoon with a touched heart, a stocked fridge with Diet Coke, beautiful flowers decorating my window sills, and a desk full of hand-written cards from you and your kids. Their sweet hugs were the best gifts we could get! I cannot thank you all enough for the amount of love you have shown to Mrs. Jaylah and myself this week. I know everyone has their own hectic lives going on, but thank you for taking the time to send some love our way....it is sincerely appreciated!

This week, we have done lots of review while trying to get some testing done! So far, the kids are doing great. I will get those finished up next week and will send them home next Friday. Next week, we will begin practicing for our Junior-K Graduation during our morning center time. Please make sure the kids arrive to school on time so that everyone can be present and prepared to practice.

This coming Monday, we will be attending school-wide chapel on the football field. Please have your kids to school by 8:10. Any children showing up later than that will have to sit in the office until we come back from the field.

Tuesday May 21, we will have our JK Graduation Chapel in the Elementary Cafeteria. We will begin at 8:30 on the dot. Please have you child here by 8 am and in their Sunday best! We will take individual student/teacher pictures BEFORE the ceremony so that they are free to hang with family afterwards. We will have a photo backdrop set up for you, their art work binders from the year will be set up for each family to take home and 3rd grade will have a lemonade stand set up after graduation. All proceeds will go to St. Jude.

With that said, we have had some questions about if the kids are expected to stay after graduation....this is up to you! We have had some stay and some go in the past. Either way, we will carry on with our usual schedule. If you do decide to take your child, please let me know! You will be free to check them out in the main office.

Wednesday May 22, we will have our End of the Year party along with a petting zoo....and a surprise furry guest from Ms. Katie :)  We will be outside all morning long so fingers crossed it is a pretty day!! I will be providing pizza for their lunch!  If you are interested in providing anything for that day, please let me know. I am looking for volunteers for fruit, capri-suns, chips and an afternoon snack. Thank you in advance :)
