Meet the Teacher

Hello and welcome to Junior- Kindergarten! I am beyond excited to get the new school year started. This is going to be a year filled with fun, learning and sweet, sweet memories!

Let me start out by introducing myself. Hello, my name is Katie Murdock and I will be your child’s teacher this year! 👋. This is my fourth year here at Jackson Christian and my second year in a teaching position at JCS. I was born and raised in Rosemark, Tennessee. I left the area in 2011. In 2017, I finally graduated from the University of Memphis at Lambuth with a Bachelor’s of Science in Education. Today, I call Jackson home where I raise my two beautiful daughters. Paisley is seven years old and going into the FIRST GRADE here at JCS!! Gentry is two years old and she stays busy running around the ELV 😀. When I am not at the school, you can most often find me floating on a boat down the Tennessee River, doing wood-burning crafts, chasing my girls around the park and pool or blaring bluegrass music on the way to Aldi. Another passion of mine is teaching. I look forward to spending this time with your children and watching them grow throughout this school year. From the bottom of my heart, I thank you for trusting me with their precious hearts and minds. This is going to be a great year!

Please join me in welcoming our new assistant, Mrs. Kaley Byrum! Here is a little bit about Kaley that she would like to share with you:

Hello, my name is Kaley Byrum (Mrs. KK). This will be my first year at JCS and I am so excited to be working with Katie and the Junior-K class. I am a wife and mother to two little boys that will be joining me at JCS. I’ve had the opportunity to work with a lot of the students over summer break and have made some great memories with them. I can’t wait to grow alongside your kiddos and help them along with their academic journey.
