Mathematics opens so many doors for us - science, law, art, architecture, economics, business, environmental sciences. The list is endless. One of my biggest joys is sharing all of this with my students.
I started teaching in 2001 and have been with LBJ High School since 2019.
I started teaching college mathematics in California after I graduated with an MA from San Francisco State University. I moved to Texas in 2008 and continued to teach college math. In 2014, I decided to make the change and start teaching high-school math. I taught at Katherine Anne Porter School in Wimberley for 5 years before making the move to JCISD.
What I enjoy the most about mathematics is identifying patterns and using patterns to solve problems in different ways.
“For me the most important instrument of thought is the eye. It sees similarities before a formula has been created to identify them.” -Benoit Mandelbrot
