■講演概要：
A wideband two-layer rectangular transparent dielectric resonator antenna (DRA) functioning as a light cover is proposed. The lower and upper layers of the DRA are made of acrylic and glass, respectively. A vertical strip is used to excite the DRA in its TE111 mode resonating in DCS-band (1.71-1.88 GHz). The DRA was simulated using ANSYS HFSS and reasonable agreement between the simulated and measured results is found. The fabricated DRA has a measured impedance bandwidth of 36.5%.
This bandwidth is more than double of that provided by the single-layer design. To demonstrate the light-cover function, an LED was inserted into the hollow region of the DRA. It was experimentally found that the LED has no practical effects on the antenna performance.
