Yellow Homework Folder

The "leave at home" side of the student homework folder should be emptied on a regular basis. Please remind your child to bring the homework folder back to school each day until this becomes a habit. They are responsible to put it into the class basket to be checked.

Learning Time

Math: In Math we are continuing with the new “Go Math” program! We will be presenting and using hands on skills as we are counting, writing, comparing sets and identifying numbers 0-5.

Chapter 2 Model and count 5 with objects. Write to tell how many. How can you show and compare numbers to 5 by using a 5 frame? Vocabulary to practice: compare, greater, match, and pair, less.

Reading: We are exploring the topic in Unit 1 'All Together Now". We will zoom in on the question "“How do we live work and play together"" We will be on this for 6 weeks. We are learning about Nouns, Rhyming words, Initial Sounds, and Final sounds, The following Letter Recognition and Initial and Final Letter Sounds for the unit will be /m/, spelled Mm, /t/ spelled T t, In addition we will Classify and Categorize items. We will identifying important components to discuss as we develop skills to compare and contrast Realism and Fantasy in stories.
