· Take time each day to listen and talk to your child

· Some good times for conversations are while traveling, at meal times, and at bed time

· Use environmental print (posters, packaging, grocery aisles signs etc) for letter recognition/word recognition

· Involve your child in activities and games that require listening and following directions

· Encourage your child to use language skills to express and solve problems

· Your child can speak in complete sentences.

· Encourage your child to follow directions with at least two step directions.
