Digital Literacy
Teacher Learning
Digital Literacy focuses on three different topics, being able to determine what is real and what is fake online (fake news!), learning how to use search engines more efficiently, and following copyright and fair use rules when sharing work found online.
Watch the 3 videos below from Common Sense Media about Digital Literacy.
While watching video reflect on:
- Has someone ever used your creative work without your permission?
- Do you set a good example by only using "fair use" works? Think about the 4 points of "fair use"
- Do you and/or your students give credit when using someone's work?

While watching video reflect on:
- Where do you get your news?
- Why do younger generations not trust news?
- The internet is filtering what news you see, how does that impact judging fact from fiction? What discourse could this cause?
- How can you fact check news you are reading?
