Jarrell Independent School District is committed to providing all first-year teachers and new teachers with trained, experienced mentors/peer advisors to guide and support them. The purpose of the JISD New Teacher Mentor Program is to provide mentors and mentees with support to facilitate professional growth.

Research indicates that far too many new teachers will leave the profession within five (5) years without mentor support. A strong mentoring program that combines clearly defined campus-based procedures and a level of district support is the most effective way Jarrell ISD can develop and retain quality teachers and improve student achievement.
