Meet the Staff

As vital members of the educational program, professional school counselors are in a unique position to assist students in the areas of personal, social, educational and career development helping to ensure all students become the productive, well-adjusted adults of tomorrow.  In addition to our certified and experienced school counselors, Igo Elementary School recognizes our Communities in Schools site coordinator as an integral member of the counseling team.

Lori Smith

School Counselor

(3rd-5th)

"As a school counselor, my goal is to  build relationships with students that show my concern for their well-being. I want students to know and understand they are valuable, vital, and unique individuals. By focusing on a student's strengths and successes, I strive for all students to recognize their potential, believe in self-worth, and move forward with confidence and positivity. I look forward to meeting each of you and working with the staff and students at Igo Elementary this year."

Texanna Martin

School Counselor

(PK-2)

"Before becoming a school counselor, I taught kindergarten and was a Social Emotional Learning Interventionist. I always wanted to help students be the best they can be. My goals this year is to build relationships with students and help them grow. Social Emotional Learning is a huge part of my practice because when helping a child with their emotional, mental, social, and physicals needs will help them grow academically as well.

Last year, I got to know many of you and your children. This year I look forward to getting to know our Igo families better as well as getting to know our new families!"
