The annual fall festival (秋＝Aki, 祭り＝Matsuri) of the Japan Society of Fairfield County (JSFC) is a family-friendly event, open to the public for free attracting hundreds of people who are interested in Japanese culture. Each year is slightly different, but it aims to feature taiko drums and other performances, children's activities, Japanese snacks and drinks, and a “Japanese mini-market” of artisans.
Through its products, our mini-market exposes attendees to modern Japanese style.
DATE: Saturday, September 19, 2026 (raindate 9/20) ~1:00 to 4:00 pm exact timing TBD.
LOCATION: Jesup Green, next to the Westport Library, 20 Jesup Road, Westport CT.

FEES: There is no booth/entry fee. Instead, each business is asked to donate 10% of their gross sales that day. There is a minimum donation of $50 per business calculated from 10% of your GROSS sales plus equipment borrowing fee, if any. THANK YOU.
EQUIPMENT: We have a limited number of tables, chairs, and 10 foot x 10 foot canopy tents for rent, first-come, first-serve. Please identify if you wish to rent, and what you are bringing on your own.

If you are selling food that requires a permit or other approval, you must contact Ryan Currier (Westport Health officer) at Rcurrier@aspetuckhd.org and provide copy of your food permit or other approval.
A few things to note –
Benefit - If the festival is cancelled (weather or other reason), or you cancel for ,your own reason (illness) no fee is necessary, however, please notify us as soon as possible for our planning.
JSFC is an all-volunteer board and we rely on volunteers to run our events. We fundraise all year to be able to put on this festival free to the public as well as support other programs throughout the year. We couldn’t do it without the angel donors in our membership, and a handful of corporate donors. Please consider donating or joining as a member or corporate membership. Selection of vendors are the decision of the JSFC festival committee and board. Priority will be given to JSFC members, but does not guarantee selection.
Electrical service is NOT available.
