東京低地の地形・河川・地盤

Landforms, rivers and deposits of Tokyo Lowland

趣旨　Purpose

　JGU2025年大会は東京理科大学葛飾キャンパスで開催されます。この地は東京低地の中川のほとりにあり、1917（大正6年）に中川の水運や水を利用して三菱製紙中川工場が操業をはじめ、2003年の工場閉鎖後、東京理科大学や公園、公共施設となりました。このため、今回は首都東京を構成する東京低地の地形・河川・地盤をテーマに公開シンポジウムを開催します。地形の特色と成り立ち、沖積層の構造、洪水の挙動、治水や防災など、東京低地ならではの話題を招待講演者と会員による講演の後、質疑応答・総合討論を行います。市民の皆様やご関心をお持ちの皆様のご参加をお待ちしております。

　The JGU 2025 annual meeting will be held at the Katsushika Campus of Tokyo University of Science. The venue is located on the left bank of the Nakagawa River in the Tokyo Lowland. In 1917, the Mitsubishi Paper Nakagawa Mill began operating using the water and transport of the Nakagawa River. After the mill closed in 2003, the area became the site of Tokyo University of Science, a park, and public facilities. Therefore, a symposium will be held on the theme of landforms, rivers and ground of the Tokyo Lowland, which make up the capital city of Tokyo. Invited speakers and members will give lectures on unique topics on Tokyo Lowland such as characteristics and origins of landforms, the structure of alluvial deposits, the behavior of floods, flood control and disaster prevention followed by question and answer, and a general discussion. We look forward to the participation of all citizens and those with interest.
