趣旨 Purpose
東京低地には広大な「ゼロメートル地帯」があり、防災上の課題となっています。本巡検ではまず陸上から江東区のゼロメートル地帯の様子を観察し、東京の最低水準点などを訪ねます。ここでは隅田川と荒川を結ぶ小名木川などの水路は水門により締切って強制的に水位を下げています（内部河川）。このため、船舶の通行のための閘門があります。午後は日本橋からチャーター船に乗り、2箇所の閘門を通過して内部河川からゼロメートル地帯を通過し、荒川を下って東京湾経由で日本橋へ戻ります。現地でゼロメートル地帯の現状や課題について討論します。
There is a vast "Below-sea-level zone" in the Tokyo Lowland, which raises concerns on disaster risks. On this tour, we will first observe the below-sea-level zone in Koto Ward from land, and visit the lowest Bench Mark in Tokyo. In this area, waterways such as the Onagi River Canal, which connects the Sumida River and the Arakawa River, are closed off with sluice gates to lower the water level (“Internal Rivers”). For this reason, there are locks for ships to pass through. In the afternoon, we will board a chartered boat from Nihonbashi, pass through two lock gates and below-sea-level zone from the water. Then sail down the Arakawa River and return to Nihonbashi via Tokyo Bay. We will discuss the current situation and issues in the below-sea-level zone.

Land subsidence; lowest benchmark; Sendaibori (raised embankment); waterfront park; Arakawa embankment; Arakawa lock gate; old Komatsugawa lock gate; Ohjima-Komatsugawa Park (disaster prevention park)
11:30 Higashi-Ojima Station - Bakuroyokoyama/Higashi-Nihonbashi Station - Nihonbashi (travel and lunch on your own)
13:00 Meet at Nihonbashi wharf. Board Ikutomaru (houseboat) (double lock gate cruise)

Apply through the tour application site, and complete payment of the participation fee on the payment site (Shikumi-Net). (Applications open on July 22nd)
Cancellation policy
If the cruise is cancelled due to reasons such as bad weather conditions, the field trip will be cancelled. In such a case, we will notify you by the evening of the previous day (around 4:00 p.m.) via the conference website and emails, and will issue a refund at the conference venue. Please note that the surcharge fee by Shikumi-Net is non-refundable.
Important notice
- We will sign up Insurance.
- Minami-Sunamachi Station to Higashi-Ojima Station will be a walking trip, and we will not return to the starting point.
- If you have baggage, please use the coin lockers at Nihonbashi Station, etc..
