Mrs. Stiveson

Welcome to 2nd Grade! My name is Krista Stiveson, and I will be your child’s teacher in the 2023-2024 school year! This is my fifth year teaching 2nd grade at Jefferson Academy. Before coming to JA, I taught Kindergarten for seven years in Wheat Ridge, Colorado. I graduated from Metropolitan State University of Denver in 2011 with a degree in Human Development with an emphasis in Elementary Education.

My husband Matt and I have been married for 13 years and have three boys together. My two oldest boys attend JA. It's really special working at the same school as my kids! Sam (8 yrs) is in 2nd grade this year, and Eli (5 yrs) is in Kindergarten. Our youngest Nate, (2 yrs) is living his best toddler life at grandma and grandpa's house during the week. We also have a Shiba Inu named Caspian who is 13 years old.

My goal is to provide a safe, caring, and encouraging environment for your child. One of my favorite parts of teaching is helping to foster the unique qualities and abilities each child brings into our classroom community. I look forward to partnering with you this year!

Outside of teaching, I love to spend time with my family, adventures outside, trying new foods and restaurants, live music and musicals, and enjoying a good cup of coffee.

I am looking forward to getting to know you and your child as we journey into the new school year!

Mrs. Shackleton

I’m Amy Shackleton. This is my first year being an EA at Jefferson Academy. I was a para for four years before I had kids and I’m excited to be back in the classroom! I love getting to know all of the kids’ personalities and what brings them joy and I am very excited to get to know all of the second graders this year!
