SCHOLARSHIP INFORMATION FROM JACKSON HIGH SCHOOL
HIGH SCHOOL SCHOLARSHIP TIMELINE
FRESHMAN YEAR:
-Begin a resume that document your clubs, activities, and achievements.
SOPHOMORE YEAR:
-Continue documenting your clubs, activities, and achievements within a resume.
-Consider taking the PSAT.
JUNIOR YEAR:
-Continue documenting your clubs, activities, and achievements within a resume.
-Consider taking the PSAT. Also prepare for the ACT.
-Begin obtaining recommendation letters from school staff.
-Start looking for scholarships, local scholarships will always be sent out, but you can begin looking on the online searches now.
SENIOR YEAR:
-Continue documenting your clubs, activities, and achievements within a resume.
-Consider retaking the ACT if necessary.
-Request final recommendations letters from school staff.
-Always look into the scholarships that are offered by colleges that you are interested in.
-Apply to all the scholarships that you match the criteria for, local scholarships will alwasy be sent out. The General Scholarship application will be sent out in the Spring.
-File you FASFA early.
COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIP INFORMATION
A student usually receives the largest amount of scholarship money from the college or university they plan to attend. Students should contact the Scholarship and Financial Aid Office of the college or university they plan to attend for a complete listing of scholarships available from that institution. It is important to apply for these scholarships by the priority deadline in order to qualify for the scholarship.
