COACH CONTACT INFORMATION

Coach Wachter retired from the classroom in 2013 but continues as the Head Wrestling Coach.  Steve and his wife, Becky, have two daughters, Landon and Paden and five grandchildren - Judah, Eli, Collin, Noah Grace and Bennett.

Coach Rouse was born and raised in Jackson and is happy to be back coaching at his alma mater.  He had an amazing wrestling career at JHS where he still shares the record for most career wins with 179 and only 19 loses.  Coach Rouse was a 4-time district finalist, 4-time conference finalist, and was an all-state wrestler three years placing 3rd, 2nd and 1st.  In addition, Coach Rouse was recognized as an All-American in the USA Wrestling Magazine.

Coach Gohn was born and raised in the St. Louis area.  He attended and played football, baseball and wrestled at Pattonville High School and graduated from CBC High School.  He played outside linebacker and special teams at Southeast Missouri State University from 2009-2013.  Coach Gohn has been with the high school football program for the last eight years and is happy to be involved with the wrestling program for his seventh year.  

Coach Rayburn graduated from JHS in 2007.  He earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Southeast Missouri Sate University in Elementary Education.  Luke was a 4-year varsity starter on the wrestling team at Jackson.  He was the USA Wrestling coach for three years before joining the JHS wrestling coaching staff.

Coach Schlick graduated from JHS in 1999.  He started with the first Jackson USA Wrestling team and went on to place All-State for Jackson four times.  After high school he wrestled for Lindenwood University and Missouri Baptist College.  Lance coaches the Jackson USA Wrestling program as well as helps with the high school team.  He currently lives in Jackson with his wife Micah and two boys Caleb and Camden.

Coach Golden is in his 20th year helping with the Jackson Wrestling Program.  Before coming to Jackson, Coach Golden was an assistant football coach and head wrestling coach at Sikeston High School.  Coach Golden graduated from JHS.  During that time he was All-Conference and All-District in football and track.

Coach Turner is in his 14th year as the 8th grade wrestling coach after being an assistant 8th grade wrestling coach for six years.  He is a 1997 graduate of JHS where he participated in football and wrestling.  Coach Turner currently teaches 8th grade Industrial Technology at Jackson Jr. High.  Travis and his wife, Sara, live in Jackson with their sons Nolan and Caleb.

Coach Wendel is a graduate of JHS where he participated in football and wrestling.  In addition to being named All-Conference and All-District in football, Matt received the Benchwarmer's Outstanding Male Athlete Award.  Before coming to Jackson, Coach Wendel taugh 2 1/2 years in Coffee County, Georgia.  Curently, Coach Wendel teaches 3rd grade at East Elementary School, and was formerly the head 8th grade wrestling coach and 7th grade football coach.  Coach Wendel was Director of the Optimist Little League Wrestling program for 20 years.  His interests include weight lifting, reading and spending time with family.  Matt and his wife, Staci, have four children, Luke, Hunter, Maci and Chase.
