Assistant Director of Bands
Krystle Boyd is an accomplished music educator and band director with over 15 years of experience in the field of music education. She began her career at the Woodland R-IV School District, where she honed her skills and passion for shaping young musicians. In 2020, Krystle Boyd joined the Jackson R-II School District as an assistant band director, where she specializes in high brass instruction at the junior high and works with all of the high school bands and high school jazz bands.
In addition to her work in the classroom, Krystle Boyd is an accomplished musician in her own right. She has served as a trumpet player in the 135th Army Band of the Missouri Army National Guard since 2003, combining her military service with her love for music. Her role in the Army Band allows her to contribute to the musical community while serving her country.
Outside of music and school, Krystle enjoys time with her family and pets. She enjoys running and fitness, hiking, and going to live concerts of all genres.
Assistant Director of bands
Mr. Trey Moss was born and raised in Jackson, Missouri and attended JR2 schools as a student. After high school, he attended Southeast Missouri State University and graduated with a Bachelor in Music Education. Mr. Moss was previously the Music Director at Father Tolton Catholic High School, and an Assistant Band Director at Poplar Bluff R1 Schools, until he joined the JR2 team in 2024! Here at Jackson, he teaches the JH Jazz Band, 7th Grade Low Brass, 8th Grade Low Brass, and assists with the Freshmen Band and the High School Bands.
Mr. Moss is married to Marie Moss, and has two children: Theodore and Claire. In his spare time he enjoys spending time with his family, fishing, watching football, listening to music, and playing low brass instruments!
Assistant Director of bands
Cody Brockman grew up in Lebanon , Mo and attended Lebanon High School. He then went to Truman State University to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in Music Education. Cody then continued his studies at Truman State University, earning both a Master’s in Conducting and a Master’s in Music Education. Since 2006, he has taught private and group lessons and directed drumlines across Missouri. In 2016, he began teaching 7TH-12TH grade band IN THE Jackson R-2 school DISTRICT. He serves as the percussion Technician and has taught flute, clarinet, and saxophone classes.
When not at school Cody enjoys spending time with his wife, two sons, and two Dogs. He loves to play video Games, Board Games, and watch Star Wars!
