Summer PAC Crew
Thanks for your interest in summer PAC work! Summer PAC events are a little more involved than the events during the school year. It’s roughly 10 weeks of work from late May to late June with some opportunities just before school starts in August. It will average out to a part-time job, but there are weeks where you may be working full-time. Late May-June is the busy dance recital season. Mid June to Early July is quiet since that is typically when I take the bulk of my vacation time But we come back strong at the end of July for UCT this year. August is cleaning, repair, and other miscellaneous work here at the PAC, or potentially other areas of the district. I am very excited to bring in a summer PAC crew to work through a busy time of year, but there will be time where it’s a lot more relaxed in a sense.
The Nitty Gritty:
6 spots available for an average of 20hrs a week
Pay is $10/hr
Formal application and interview process
Application link to be posted in Mid March *link at bottom of page
Deadline to apply is in April 1st - More info to come
You’ll be provided with badge access to the building - You will be a district employee for the summer.
The link below is to the calendar for the summer. Events are subject to be changed, added, or removed at any time.
Summer PAC Calendar- you will have to tab forward to May before you start seeing dates for work. General work days will be added soon and will go through early August
Ideally you would be available for most of the summer, but the schedule will be set up so that if you are interested in having another job you should be able to do so, if you can work around the schedule. I know that there are other conflicts such as college registration days, band camp, vacations, etc. If you have conflicts with specific dates, please come with those written down if you are called in for an interview.

I put a great deal of thought into whom I hire for the summer. It’s not an easy decision for me to make because I am already aware of your personal and professional skills ahead of time. I take into consideration a great deal of factors when I select my candidates for hire.
How have you grown as a technician in the last year?
Will you work well with the other candidate selected for the summer?
Will you professionally represent the PAC and the USCD school district in my absence?
How has your attendance been for events and work calls?
Have you shown initiative in being a leader and team player or wanting to learn new skills?
Typically, these positions go to upperclassmen, simply because they often meet the skill requirements I am looking for. If you feel you do not meet some of these requirements, I still encourage you to apply. Remember, anyone can be taught a skill or skillset.
If you are not selected for an interview, please don’t feel offended. What that means is that I know you’re interested in the position and will keep an eye out on you a little more next year as you continue to grow as a technician.
If you are selected for an interview and not hired, please please please know that it was not an easy decision for me to make. I hope that you will continue to be a part of the PAC/tech program. You will most likely be offered to sub in during the summer if the hired candidates have a conflict with certain events.
If you are hired- super awesome! If you’re not a senior you will highly be considered again for the following summer should you be interested and continue to demonstrate growth as a technician.
