Students in the Ivy Tech Human Services Program in Bloomington typically are on one of two degree pathways: the Human Services Social Work TSAP, or the Addiction Studies Certificate.
The Human Services Social Work TSAP is a 60-credit associate of science degree that transfers seamlessly into any school of social work at a public university in Indiana. Students in the Human Services Social Work TSAP have also transferred into bachelor programs for Human Development Family Studies, Public Health, Human Services, and Youth Development. The associate degree is 30 credits of general education courses and 30 credits of human services courses. Students will take two semesters of internship at the end of the program.
The Addiction Studies Certificate is a 27-credit hour certificate that may be earned alone or to augment a 2-year or 4-year degree. The certificate is 6 credits of general education courses and 21 credits of human services courses.
Students in the human services program go on to work as case workers, case managers, counselors, recovery coaches, and mental health technicians. They work in schools, outpatient mental health clinics, shelters, hospitals, group homes, residential facilities, child services, and social welfare offices.
