High School PSAT and Pre-ACT Notification
IUSD is making the PSAT and Pre-ACT available for students in grades 9 - 11 at no cost during the 2023-24 school year. These assessments establish a baseline for college and career readiness and support all students with early feedback on the skills and knowledge that matter most for college and career success.
Students who participate in the assessments will have an early opportunity to:
Get on track. Test results show your child where his or her strengths are, what to work on to be college-ready, and how to stay on track through high school
Get stronger with practice. After the test, your child can strengthen essential skills and knowledge for high school with free personalized practice on Khan Academy.
Get matched with AP. Score reports may suggest AP courses that can provide an edge on college applications and an opportunity to earn college credit.
The PSAT and Pre-ACT are administered by College Board and ACT. To support students in their college search, College Board and ACT may share personally identifiable information with scholarship providers, subcontractors, partners who support under-represented students, and higher education institutions.
College Board and ACT may share students’ test score band, language background, courses taken, college major and interests, parents highest level of education, and other information relevant to determine eligibility for selected scholarships. These companies will NEVER share social security numbers, actual test scores, information on disabilities, or phone numbers. Students may, at the start of the exam, be presented with an option to opt-out of data sharing by College Board and/or ACT. We encourage you to discuss this option with your child to determine the preferred choice for your family. If you wish to opt out of this data sharing, parent/guardian must contact the test providers directly.
