I go by Ms. Perez, or Ms. P
My name is Elena Perez, and I'm your Elementary Resource Counselor! I have been working in IUSD providing Mental Health and Wellness services since 2020. I graduated from Chico State University with a B.A in English Studies and Creative Writing, and an M.S. in Educational Counseling with a Pupil Personnel Services Credential from National University.
When I'm not at Bonita Canyon, I enjoy traveling, spending time with my friends and family, cuddling with my beagle Arya, trying new restaurants, watching movies, and writing.
When we meet, I am here to listen! Our meetings are a judgment-free zone and I will always disclose confidentiality. Students can feel safe to discuss any topics from friendships to anxiety. In our meetings, we will spend time talking, playing games, reading, watching videos, practicing mindfulness and relaxation, or working on school goals.
I am also a Resource Specialist for the entire Bonita Canyon community. I can provide linkage to outside mental health providers and additional IUSD resources.
