Coordenado por Ana Cardoso-de-Matos, Mar Loren-Méndez, Emanuela Sorbo, Marco Chiuso e Enrique Larive-López, na sequência do I Seminário Internacional de Investigação "Leitura de paisagens extractivas. Património cultural, abordagens criativas e protocolos operativos" realizado no âmbito do projecto CARVE-Land. Cultura, Arte, Investigação dos Valores Patrimoniais nas Paisagens Extractivas (https://sites.google.com/), este segundo seminário internacional tem como objectivo desenvolver a investigação e o debate sobre a eficácia dos instrumentos de protecção da paisagem e do património cultural no contexto das paisagens das pedreiras de mármore.
A investigação está a ser desenvolvida de forma comparativa considerando três casos de estudo de pedreiras de mármore (Carrara, IT; Macael, SP; Évora, PT) em que coexistem os processos de transformação antrópica da actividade industrial contemporânea e o património paisagístico e cultural. O objectivo do seminário é a identificação de instrumentos de conhecimento e protecção que permitam a gestão do conhecimento do património cultural e paisagístico de forma dinâmica no tempo e no espaço, através da apresentação das particularidades e problemas dos estudos de caso em Portugal, Itália e Espanha e da comparação das possibilidades de conhecimento, gestão e protecção numa comparação internacional.

Cultural heritage, creative approaches and operative protocols" held within the CARVE-Land project. Culture, Art, Research for Heritage Values in Extractive Landscapes project (https://sites.google.com/), this second international seminar aims to develop research and debate on the effectiveness of landscape and cultural heritage protection instruments in the context of marble quarry landscapes.
The research is being carried out comparatively considering three case studies of marble quarries (Carrara, IT; Macael, SP; Évora, PT) in which the processes of anthropic transformation of contemporary industrial activity and landscape and cultural heritage coexist.
The aim of the seminar is the identification of knowledge and protection tools that allow the management of cultural and landscape heritage knowledge in a dynamic way in time and space through the presentation of the peculiarities and problems of the case study in Portugal, Italy and Spain and the comparison of the possibilities of knowledge, management and protection in an international comparison.
