The Chief Science Officer (CSO) Program is an international initiative dedicated to elevating student voices through leadership opportunities in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). This program cultivates a diverse network of student leaders, encouraging active engagement and collaboration. By enriching your school’s STEM culture, the CSO Program raises awareness of STEM careers and empowers students to amplify their voices within the community, making a lasting impact on the future of STEM education.

Students Chosen to Lead as Chief Science Officers
Middle and high school students (Grades 6-12) from the NWPA region have been selected to represent the NWPA region as Chief Science Officers (CSOs). This program aims to inspire students by fostering leadership and innovation in science.
The Northwest PA cohort (IU 4, 5, and 6) consists of talented students who were selected by teachers and peers for their outstanding commitment to science and leadership potential.
