OUR STEM DEFINITION:
STEM education is a student-centered approach that encourages persistence, curiosity, collaboration, communication, problem-solving, and critical and design thinking that will contribute to future workforce development and society as a whole.
Four members of the NWPA STEM Ecosystem Steering Committee attended the PA Statewide STEM Ecosystem (PSSE) in-person convening this January, where they engaged in dynamic discussions and collaborative learning with STEM leaders from across the state.
Grounded in the PSSE Leadership Summit, the NWPA STEM Ecosystem aligned with a unified statewide vision to address the disconnect between education, workforce needs, and fragmented efforts. The focus centers on strengthening cross‑sector partnerships, building future‑ready skills in high‑demand areas, and committing to equity and access for all learners. This shared vision provides a clear north star to guide collective STEM work across Pennsylvania over the next several years.
