The SETT framework was developed by Joy Zabala. The SETT Framework is a four-part, student-centered model that utilizes a collaborative team-centered decision-making process for the determination of assistive technology needs and potential devices for students to access and participate in their educational programs as it relates to an IEP or 504 plan. The framework itself is not an evaluation but part of the process when conducting trials to determine which AT devices and/or services may benefit a student.
Below are several resources to assist teams with making decisions throughout the SETT and AT trialing process. If additional support is needed with the SETT framework or AT trialing, please request IDEA-funded AT TaC Services.
